Before the wheels leave the tarmac, there is a huge support network that keeps Global Perspectives going.

Jim McLeod : Jim is the Principal at Richmond Secondary and has been a big supporter of Global Perspectives since he arrived in the 2006.

Mavis Anthony : Have you ever been to our Silent Auction and Dinner? If you haven’t, you are missing out on some amazing cuisine! Mavis runs the Culinary Arts Program here at Richmond High and has been involved with Global Perspectives for a number of years. She was a welcomed addition to our travel group to Paraguay in 2009.

Jesseca White : Back for her second run through for Global Perspectives! Returning once again for the Fiji Trip, Jesseca will be doing in the same role that she was when she was with us for the Colts to Malaysia in 2008. Welcome back!

Joanna Thomsing : An accomplished traveller herself, she is a Math and French teacher at Richmond High, Joanna deals with all the medical aspects of the program. She investigates the health conditions of the country before we leave and educates the group based on her findings. She handles all the in-country medical concerns. Fiji will be Joanna’s 5th adventure with Global Perspectives.

Tanya Kippan : Tanya will be stepping out for this coming year after a very successful trip to Mongolia. She will still be working hard behind the scenes.

Don Furugori : Although not traveling with our group this year, Don is still involved behind the scenes with what we do throughout our community. A Math teacher and Personal Trainer, he understands what hard work is all about and that showed when he was in charge of the work site while he was in Paraguay.

Roman Hammerschimdst : Working behind the scenes for yet another year,  Roman will be working with Jamie Kippan to help oversee the international red tape. Roman has been involved with Global Perspectives for many years. A Geography and Physical Education teacher, Roman brings a vast array of knowledge and experience to the program.

Jamie Kippan : Jamie is a PE and Socials Teacher at Richmond Secondary and this will be his first Global Perspectives experience. He will bring an added element of experience to the March trip and will oversee the work project and work closely with the local contractor to make sure our project stays on track.

Kevin Matheny : Fiji will be Kevin’s 9th international project. He ran the Global Perspectives program in another school district before going overseas to teach. After living in Hong Kong for four years, he returned to Richmond High School. He oversees the program and coordinates with all the support network to make the trips as worthwhile for the students as possible.
