These two weeks have just been a bit off key. Not having class has been very boring, everyday two lunch global has given me something to look forward to and also kept me busy. Straying around lunch aimlessly sucks a lot. This might be a bit of foreshadowing to the end of the school year, but at least it isn’t over yet. So woot to the rest of the school year
For all of your reading this here is a trivia question for you what is so special about Global Perspectives?
A) The amounts of joy we can have with each other while doing manual labor
B) The ability to make silly jokes about one another until you get mad, but still being able to forgive and laugh along
C) To be able to squish 30+ people into two rooms and still have the best time of your life
Or
D) The gathering of many cultures with a common goal to better the world.
Ok, I lied here is the true answer; it is all of the above. I am simple thrilled to be able to spend all this time with these people, it is just wonderful.
Today we have almost completed the school and it is looking beautiful. I just would like to remind all my fellow classmates and teachers/mentors that even though we might get on each others nerves we are always here for each other.
P.S. Props to the “Poo Crew” that hole never looked deeper
Finally I can see all our work coming together before my very eyes. We dug, poked, sawed, hacked and even sung our way through the day. It is amazing seeing everyone work together, not just our “family” but with the Mongolian workers and children, co-existing with each other. At the end of the day we had accomplished the foundation and also put up one side of the building. We were all tired, filthy and hungry but none of that mattered, because we understood that what we did with our own hands and feet would give us joy which was comparable to nothing else.
Today we woke up from a very cold night, but we toughened out and got through it. The whole day would be full of unexpected surprises. First we stay in a little bit longer to recuperate from a very cold night. Then we headed off to our new ìhomeî which is a dorm at a school. After dropping off all our things we finally headed to the work site. But as soon as we got there troubles came rolling around once again. We were informed that there were not enough tools, the foundation was misplaced and that the cost would be a lot more than expected so that the school was going to be downsized a little bit. That didn’t matter though, we worked through it and had a wonderful time. Later that night we had another cultural event which was spectacular.
Today was a very interesting experience. We began the day with morning walk around the capital of Mongolia at 6:30am. After that we ate, gather up our things and boarded a train. Several hours later we arrived at our destination. We slept in our authentic Mongolian homes. In side was five cots and a stove in the middle to keep us warm. Later that night we slept, but the fire was causing some problems so the teacher stayed up the night and did what they could to keep us warm ( keeping the fire going). After all of that we had a opening ceremony full of dances and games, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience

So it is the night before, still packing and trying to get everything together. Waiting for the time to pass by and at 1 o’clock tomorrow I’ll be off to a new adventure. It wasn’t long ago when I was sitting in our global perspectives class thinking “only a month or two left to go can’t wait.” Those days sure did pass bye very quickly. Now I am just sitting here going down my checklist seeing what i forgot to pack, but everything looks pretty good. I guess I am really speechless right now and don’t have too much to say other than i’m really excited =).

Everything around us is changing, nothing is the same from the last moment and all we know is not the same as before. So because of this we must understand that not everything around us has such a meaning as to it being a code to solve. Sometimes the things around us are as simple as to what we see it as. The realization of being 17 years old is just not that important on the larger scale. That even though our own lives are important the lives of others are just as important. That we should never forget that everyone does not follow the same path as you and that their views are different. To understand the feelings of the ones around us and try to help.
In a couple of weeks we shall be embarking on a new adventure, and by then hopefully we will truly understand.

It is almost time for our films to be presents! Today my group gathered together to do our film, and I must say I think we had a blast. I defiantly learned some things about these people i call classmates/friends. While doing our film our group bonded quite well and we had many laughs along the way. Learning about the culture of others and the backgrounds we come from is very interesting. Our group is just so fantastic on how we are so multicultural
. Coming from different backgrounds I really saw how amazing we communicated with each other. That got to thinking about Canada and how multicultural our society is and how we are all different but bond so well with each other. Even though we are different, we welcome one another with open arms. This really made me fell that our community even though it might not seem perfect at times is really is almost perfect seeing how the judging and the hate is minimal. Anyways just wanting to say that good job group
lets rock everyone with our amazing film.
What we call the secret of happiness is no more a secret than our willingness to choose life.

Last class was full of information, life expectancy, births, deaths, and living conditions. Looking at how the world revolves and which places do people live the longest in. The biggest trend I saw was that women tend to live longer than men in every country. It was really nice to look at the list of top countries and seeing Canada up there was awesome, but also seeing all those below Canada was a drag. Looking down the list we saw many countries including Mongolia, and we talked about what were some of the main factors which would cause these rates to alter. Also as we were looking down the list we saw U.S.A. and talked about why they as a first world country would be lower on the list than other countries. In the end the lesson I learned that class was that how little things can effect the living and life expectancy of people in other countries.
